【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardspecifiesrequirementsandtestmethodsforchairswithsupportsurfacesthepositionofwhichcanbeadjustedelectricallybytheseatedpersonand/oranattendant,includingrecliningchairsandriserchairs.Itisapplicabletochairsforusebypeopleweighingupto100kg.Thestandardisapplicabletosingleandmultipleseatingunits.Inthetextofthisstandardtheterm“chairs”isusedtorefertochairswithelectricallyoperatedsupportsurfaces.Theterm“chairs”alsoreferstomultipleseatingunits.Thestandardisapplicabletochairsintendedfordomesticandnon-domesticuse.Thisstandardspecifiesonlythesafety,strengthanddurabilityofthechairstructure.Itdoesnotspecifythefireresistanceordurabilitypropertiesoffillingmaterials,upholsteryfabricsorfoamcushions.Also,itdoesnotspecifytheelectricalsafetyofthesupportsurfaceadjustmentmechanism.Therequirementsinthisstandardareapplicabletochairsinthefullyassembledcondition,readyforuse.Thestandarddoesnotspecifyresistancetodegradationofthestructuralmaterialsbysunlightorchemicalattack.Thisstandarddoesnotcoveranyancillarydevicesattachedto,orbuiltinto,thechairstructure,suchasatable,refrigeratorortelevisionremotecontrol(seeNote2).NOTE1ChairswhicharemedicaldevicesarerequiredtoconformtoECDirective93/42EEC(theMedicalDevicesDirective).OnemeansofcomplyingwiththeMedicalDevicesDirectiveisgiveninBS8480.NOTE2Ifconformitytoastandardistobeclaimedforsuchancillarydevices,conformityassessmentagainsttherelevantstandard(s)wouldneedtobecarriedoutseparately.
