【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluateanautomotiveengineoil'scontrolofenginedepositsunderoperatingconditionsdeliberatelyselectedtoacceleratedepositformation.Thistestmethodwascorrelatedwithfieldservicedata,determinedfromside-by-sidecomparisonsoftwoormoreoilsinpolice,taxifleets,anddeliveryvanservices.Thesamefieldserviceoilswerethenusedindevelopingtheoperatingconditionsofthistestprocedure.Thistestmethod,alongwithothertestmethods,definestheminimumperformanceleveloftheAPICategorySL(detailedinformationaboutthiscategoryisincludedinSpecificationD4485).Thistestmethodisalsoincorporatedinautomobilemanufacturers'factory-fillspecifications.Thebasicengineusedinthistestmethodisrepresentativeofmanythatareinmodernautomobiles.Thisfactor,alongwiththeacceleratedoperatingconditions,shouldbeconsideredwheninterpretingtestresults.FIG.1SchematicofEngineFuelSystem1.1ThistestmethodcoversandiscommonlyreferredtoastheSequenceVGtest,andithasbeencorrelatedwithvehiclesusedinstop-and-goservicepriorto1996,particularlywithregardtosludgeandvarnishformation.ItisoneofthetestmethodsrequiredtoevaluateoilsintendedtosatisfytheAPISLperformancecategory.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specifichazardstatementsaregivenin7.7,7.10.2.2,8.3.4.2,8.4.4.3,9.2.6,9.3.4.5,12.1.1.7,12.2.1.4,andAnnexA1.
